Examination details
Problem encountered The CD-ROM that was handed to me immediately after the scan contained corrupted DICOM images. The files are present on the disc, but most (or all) of the .dcm files are unreadable or only partially readable in standard DICOM viewers (RadiAnt, MicroDicom, Weasis, Horos, etc.). Most images cannot be read. It appears that the images that cannot be read are actually the interesting portion of the MRI scan. When I came out of the MRI scanner, the MRI technician commented that I have holes in my scalp, and that he had never seen that before. This may be RF tissue damage leading to cystes, through oxidative stress.
This means the original image data as provided by the radiology centre on physical media is defective and cannot be used reliably for second opinions or archiving.
