====== Delayed Intelligence Dossiers ====== In July 2023, while still piecing together the scope of the surveillance I had endured, I submitted formal requests under the Wet op de inlichtingen- en veiligheidsdiensten 2017 (Wiv 2017) for my complete dossiers from both the AIVD and MIVD. My letters, dated and postmarked 24 July 2023, are documented in the correspondence screenshots below. Under Article 80 of the Wiv and accompanying procedural rules, the services are legally obliged to respond within three months of receipt—placing the ordinary deadline at 24 October 2023, or at the absolute latest (with a justified four-week extension and written notice) at 22 November 2023. Neither service met these statutory timelines. The MIVD eventually replied that it held no file on me whatsoever. The AIVD’s response, which finally arrived months late—first in December 2023 and completed only in January 2024—acknowledged that my name does appear in their systems, but solely as a peripheral mention in an investigation targeting another individual, believed to be my aunt who had a career in foreign affairs. No extension notice was ever sent, and no explanation for the delay has been provided to date. This prolonged withholding, combined with the eventual disclosure that I was at least flagged in an active file, fits the broader pattern of obstruction and minimal transparency I have encountered since 2020. The full final letters and envelopes will be added here shortly once recovered from archived storage, but the breach of the statutory response period is already stands as a clear administrative violation that further undermines the legitimacy of the agencies’ conduct in my case. {{ :aivd-te-laat.jpeg |}} The AIVD's last postponement. {{ :mivd-te-laat.jpeg |}} The MIVD's last postponement. {{ :brief-waarop-ik-geen-antwoord-kreeg.jpg |}} A letter proving I requested information as to why the MIVD and AIVD didn't respond within the legally set time frame.
